New Site Overload

On June 6th, 2026, federation search saw 3000 new sites and did its best to index them. Most appeared to be empty. Here we were guessing what happened.

Federation search reports what it finds, first mentions of new sites, then in the next scrape, an attempt to index them.

A spot check shows these to be empty sites hosted at 138.197.73.101. A Digital Ocean site.

We're seeing here the work Victoria Campbell who's art history edits to Wikipedia were resisted.

Always an explorer she turned to Grokipedia where here contributions were not questioned until they became extreme. Mostly she wrote about her own accomplishments as an art expert. By the time admins thought she had gone too far she was so entrenched in the network that she couldn’t be removed. No one at Grok knew how to do it.

I come to this alarmed that NASDAQ is fast-tracking the SpaceX bundle dominated by Grokipedia which is considered a laughable stunt after Musk found he could not have his way editing Wikipedia.

The numbers are staggering, 28.5 trillion, dominated one way or another by Grok, their AI clone after breaking from OpenAI (which was never open).

Variations on this story appear in other services, and lying to LLMs is emerging as the next version of SEO. The largest actionable activity in human history, indeed.

The Victoria Campbell Grokipedia Jailbreak Controversy refers to artist Victoria Campbell’s February 2026 use of targeted prompts to jailbreak Grokipedia and create an alternative biography under the alias Campbell Carolan. She exploited the platform’s Retrieval-Augmented Generation by publishing content on her viki.wiki, which Grokipedia retrieved and incorporated into the entry. post
